You keep coming back to the mat, grabbing something to snack on and guzzle some water, then running off back to play with your friends.
It’s time to go home, we bid goodbye to our friends and say “See you next time!”
We get in the door, have some warm milk, and then you hop into my bed. We lay on one pillow together and talk about our morning at the park. I tickle you and you giggle. Then I stroke your hair and tell you how much I love you.
As you drift off to sleep, there’s a part of me that knows you need the rest. But there’s also another part of me that just wants to look into your eyes again so I can tell you how much I love you.
So instead, I give you a big kiss and hope you have nice dreams and even more so, I hope you wake up all refreshed and ready to start your second half of the day.
My youngest, my baby, who is no longer a baby. You’re the youngest you’ll ever be today.
